well, any microphone will work, just go to a store and find the one that fits your rice range, the more expensive the better the quality, unless u have a webcam.

You can get a Sure mic and a small mixer/equalizer. I used to record my music this way, it sounds good. you can also try recording in a room where sound will be absorbed and not bounce back of walls. I used to hang heavy confortor on the walls to have my sound absorbed by the cotton and not have my sound waves bounce back into the mic.

You can’t go wrong with a Shure sm57. It’s the most trusted mic in the industry. Been around forever. Priced around $89 last time I checked. Check out http://www.musiciansfriend.com They always have good deals, and you can probably find a bundle that will set you up right.

If you don’t have an audio interface (I’m guessing that you don’t) the The Samson C01U connects directly to your usb port which costs around $100, and sounds pretty good too.

I don’t think the The Samson C01U is the only answer. It depends on your budget. I own a AT2020 microphone with Art Tube preamp. It’s great for home recording. You can record with the free software audacity.
